I have a song in my head ALL THE TIME.
I sometimes swear like a trucker.
I believe that wrinkles and grey hair are badges of experience that we have earned, and that they should be worn proudly.
I think the hottest thing you could wear is a pair of Carhardts.
I prefer standard to automatic.
I am an NPR junkie.
I am just as comfortable in a group of seven-year-olds as I am with seventy-year-olds
I give great presents (think thoughtful, not extravagant).
I am turned on by anyone who can turn a phrase (and spell it right, to boot).
I am realistic enough to know that you might not be *everything* I am looking for in a partner, but open enough to know that you might reveal new things for me to love in a partner.
I don’t usually start this many sentences with the word “I,” and hope you don’t make it a habit, either.
My Ideal Person:
You have a library card and know how to use it.
You don’t mind if I wear heels, even if you are shorter than me.
You are handy and appreciate that I am handy, too.
You are passionate about at least one thing in your life.
You are open-minded and accept people with many different backgrounds, appearances and beliefs.
You are (or strive to be) comfortable in your own skin.
You ask questions and listen to the answers.
You are in touch with both your silly and your serious sides.
You sing in the car on road trips (and don’t mind that I do, too).
You are regarded by your friends as dependable.
You like (or preferably love) animals.
You might not like *every* little thing about me, but are wise enough to know that the whole package makes it all worthwhile.
- The last great book I read
I tend to read lots of books/magazines at once - Most recently
Traveling Mercies, by Anne Lamott and ReadyMade Magazine
(which ROCKS!). I'm looking forward to picking up
Born Standing Up (by Steve Martin) next.
- My most humbling moment
I'll show you mine. . .
- Favorite on-screen sex scene
Frankly, I am much more easily inspired off-screen…
- The celebrity I resemble the most
I’m half Japanese and half German, a combination not well-represented
in Hollywood. Maybe Katherine Keener crossed with Jenny
Shimizu? Or Karina Lombard crossed with Princess Mononoke?
- The best or worst lie I've ever told
I really try not to lie about anything, not because I’m a
goodie-two-shoes, but because my memory sucks, and it's
too hard to keep track of lies. If anything, I am too honest.
- If I could be anywhere right now
In my kayak on a quiet inlet at sunset; In bed on a Sunday morning
“sleeping in” with my sweetie; Exploring a new city’s back
roads with an adventurous companion; In a creative frenzy
in the studio; Dancing to music with a strong beat, surrounded
by other people who could care less what they look like;
In my kitchen making a delectable meal for friends. . .
- Five items I can't live without
My tools, NPR/Music (I know, that's two), and the rest
are not objects, but. . . my friends, my family, my cats.
- Fill in the blank: _____ is sexy; _____ is sexier.
Lust is sexy; Trust is sexier. Being unapologetically
oneself is the sexiest thing of all.
- In my bedroom one will find...
A simple bed with down comforter and various pillows (but
not the annoying decorative ones that you have to put on
the floor at night to be able to climb in – I am NOT that girl),
a pile of half-read books and magazines in a precarious
pile on the nightstand, a small meditation altar, two sleepy
cats and/or cat hair.
